Zheng Play
Zheng is a Chinese plucked string instrument. Although it is not the most widely used instrument in the various ensembles of traditional Chinese orchestras, it is currently one of the most popular traditional Chinese instruments.
This instrument was already in circulation in the ancient State of Qin more than two thousand years ago. Since then, people from different periods and regions have left behind Zheng music in a wide variety of forms and styles. As it developed, Zheng music gradually evolved into a number of distinctive regional schools, including the Henan, Shandong, Zhejiang, Chaozhou, Hakka, and Shaanxi traditions. Today, Zheng music continues to develop, taking on new forms and directions different from those of the past, while its beautiful sound has always remained inseparable from the instrument itself.
